Consulting

Jenny is available to edit or critique writing at all levels. She has worked with novelists, short story writers, memoirists, and nonfiction authors to develop and shape their work. She helps writers prepare manuscripts for publication, submission to agents, and applications for residencies, conferences, and other writing programs. In addition, she works with those who aren’t looking to submit but who want to dig deeper into their writing, as well as those who are just starting out and working to get a feel for a story, character, or subject.

Jenny also assists writers as a coach, helping to structure creative time, inspire ideas, develop elusive material, problem-solve, improve process, generate pages, and meet deadlines.

I trust Jenny Moore completely—her meticulous attention to detail and her insight and wisdom. If she has read something I’ve written and given it her sharp-eyed stamp of approval, then I know it’s ready to be sent out and read by the world. She’s a joy to work with.  —Siobhan, author of You Know When the Men Are Gone and The Confusion of Languages

As an editor, Jenny’s attention to detail—in every aspect of the manuscript, from structural integrity to character arc to word choice—undoubtedly played a significant role in my editor’s decision to buy the manuscript. It was, quite simply, a much better book because I worked with her. Jenny Moore is accessible, supportive, and good-humored, qualities that are conducive to those aspects of writing that necessitate teamwork for ultimate, successful publication.  —Julie, author of Daughter of Providence and The Tesla Effect trilogy

Sometimes I’m not even sure what I’m saying, although I have a sense for what I want to say. Jenny has a great knack for figuring it out, leaving me jumping up and down as I read saying, “Yes, that’s exactly what I hoped it could be.” I’m simply blown away by what we’ve been able to do here. I don’t need to tell her how much this story means to me… I would have never imagined trying anything like this. It has let me see structure in a whole new light; a huge leap for me as a writer.  —Dave, author of Michelangelo’s Puzzle
